The new Agency Consolidated End-user Services (ACES) contract is one of five procurements under NASA’s IT Infrastructure Integration Program (I3P), which will transform NASA’s IT Infrastructure services from a Center-based model to an enterprise-based management and provisioning model.  ACES will provide a consolidated solution for delivering end-user services across the Agency to achieve increased efficiencies and reduced costs through standardization. Services include: provisioning and support of desktops, laptops, cell phones, personal digital assistants, printers, and office automation software. The NASA Shared Services Center (NSSC) is the host Center for ACES. The ACES service provider is Hewlett-Packard Enterprise Services (HPES). ACES replaces the Outsourcing Desktop Initiative for NASA (ODIN) contract.  The ODIN to ACES transition affects every employee who currently has ODIN equipment.  The ACES transition began at LaRC in early September 2011 and is scheduled to be completed by February 28, 2012. Topic:  The YMCA – Making a Difference in Lives Everyday

The YMCA is making a difference in our community and individual lives every day.  The Victory Family YMCA is located in close proximity to NASA’s Langley Research Center and is a community resource actively utilized by a number of our contractor employees and Civil Service personnel.  For example, LaRC employee involvement, Dr. Tom Pinelli received special recognition this year from the YMCA for his leadership role with the STAR Achievers Academy.  Star Achievers Academy is a carefully integrated program of academics, technology, athletics, and life skills, which builds the self confidence, academic skills, motivation, and discipline children must have to succeed in school and to become productive, responsible citizens. It reaches out to “children in the middle” to give them hope for the future, keep them excited and successful in school, and to prepare them for tomorrow’s workforce.  From the contractor perspective, SGT’s Christine Matthews is a member of the Board of Directors and has actively engaged all members of the LITES team in supporting efforts of the Victory Family YMCA since early 2010.  This presentation will enhance your understanding of the YMCA’s focus on youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.  You will gain an understanding of the volunteer opportunities, resources available to improve the health and well-being of your employees and their families, and the programs available for elders, families and youth.  This community asset truly offers a wealth of benefits for our most valued resource – our employees.

Hope to see all of you folks there!
