Center Director Transitions LaRC to Response Framework Stage 2

Tim Cannella requested that the following guidance from NASA LaRC Center Director Clayton Turner be shared with LaRC Contractors Steering Council members.

Dear Langley Team,

The protection and care of the Langley team is our top priority and critical to the success of our mission.

While we do not have any confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Langley as of today, March 14, out of an abundance of caution, the center is transitioning to Stage 2 of our response framework and strongly encourage employees who can work remotely to do so until further notice. If there is mission essential work that needs to occur at the center, this work should continue. I also encourage you to limit travel that is not mission-essential, as defined in the response framework.

We will continue to assess the situation and update the status of the center and its facilities, as needed. Please stay in close contact with your supervisor, and I really appreciate your understanding, patience and support through this challenging period of time.

CONTRACTORS: Since each contract is unique, contractor employees should seek guidance from their employing company supervisor.

STUDENTS: Interns and other research or fellowship students should contact their NASA Langley Education Program point of contact for guidance as needed.

Stay healthy and please continue to consult NASA People for the most current direction on NASA’s response to the coronavirus.

Clayton Turner
Center Director
