LaRC Contractors Steering Council Meeting – May 18, 2023

Join us for the next Contractor’s Steering Council (LCSC) meeting Thursday, May 18, at 2:00 pm. This month’s LCSC meeting will feature presentations from Langley Allies and Advocates for Women, the OASIS+ Contract, and an introduction to LaRC Information Technology Procurement Office (ITPO) Contractors Steering Council (CSC), plus an Office of Procurement update from Tim Canella, acting Office of Procurement Director. This meeting will be a great opportunity to meet and network with fellow members of the NASA LaRC contractor community.

NASA Request for Information on Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities in Procurements Due June 10, 2023

Susan McClain, Director of NASA LaRC’s Office of Procurement, requested that the following formal Blackout Notice be shared with LaRC Contractors Steering Council members.

NASA has posted a Request for Information on the Federal Register and is asking for comments on or before June 10, 2023. NASA is issuing this Request for Information (RFI) to receive input from the public on the barriers and challenges that prevent members of underserved communities (as defined in Executive Order 13985, Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government, and Executive Order 14091, Further Advancing Racial Equity and Support for Underserved Communities Through the Federal Government) from participating in NASA’s procurements, grants, and cooperative agreements.

Student Research Conference April 13, 2023

Kristyn Damadeo requested that the following information be shared with LaRC Contractors Steering Council members.

Industry and NASA representatives are invited to hear Graduate Research Fellows and Undergraduate Research Scholars from across the state present the results of their research funded by the Virginia Space Grant Consortium at the 2023 Student Research Conference on April 13, 2023 at the Holiday Inn Newport News-Hampton, 980 Omni Blvd, Newport News, Virginia 23606.

Attendees of this free event will have a chance to interact with the students, hear presentations from Graduate Fellows, and see poster presentations from Undergraduate Scholars in research areas including aerospace, structures and materials, applied physics, and planetary science. Free registration begins at 8:00 AM. Presentations will be from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM. See the attached conference agenda below for additional details.
